Carol and Daryl were separated by the end of The Walking Dead Season 6 finale, but there’s hope for a reunion.
[Warning: possible The Walking Dead Season 7 plot spoilers ahead]
Actors Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride were spotted filming together for The Walking Dead Season 7 episode 10 on Aug. 27, according to The Spoiling Dead . This is a big deal, considering Negan allegedly takes Daryl as his captive after the first encounter with Rick’s group. Carol is also headed towards Ezekiel and the Kingdom, which means she eventually makes her way back to the original group.
“Yesterday was the first day of episode 10. We’re hearing Carol, Daryl, some kingdom people, and Ezekiel were all filming,” according to The Spoiling Dead. “Word is Carol and Daryl filmed inside the creeptastic house alone together. There were also walkers on set and reports of gunfire.”
It sounds like we’ll see the beginning of the All Out War storyline from The Walking Deadcomics. The show will likely focus on the tension between Negan and the other communities in The Walking Dead Season 7, ending with Rick coming out on top by rallying everyone against his nemesis. Deadline recently spoke to The Walking Dead Director Greg Nicotero about what to expect in The Walking Dead , to which his response is the group will have to get through a rough patch before they can move on.
“I think it’s going to get a lot worse before it gets better for our group, and it’s pretty intense,” Nicotero told Deadline. “I mean, the show, we’re sort of opening a new chapter. I mean, it’s really, Rick is now, if you really think about his journey in the comic books, he shares the spotlight with Negan in the comic book. Negan now has some ownership over what the show is about.”
Nicotero continued, “It’s the anticipation and the excitement of new worlds that we’re going to, like the Hilltop, like the Kingdom, like the Sanctuary where Negan lives. Everybody’s putting so much of their heart and soul into it. You know, after directing the premiere episode, I was fucked up for two weeks, you know? I really felt like I dragged a lot of my dearest friends into these really deep, dark places shooting that episode, and it’s been definitely an experience unlike anything that I’ve ever handled before.”
