Game of Thrones season 7: New filming location might be Daenerys’ Westeros landing point

Production on season seven of Game of Thrones began earlier this month, various actors from the acclaimed HBO series being photographed in Northern Ireland, where the majority of filming takes place.

Already, we know other shoot locations include Spain and Iceland. A new report by El Correo, picked up by Watchers on the Wall, has detailed a new Spanish destination for the cast and crew: Muriola Beach in Barrika.

Town Mayor Robert Muñoz is said being ‘kept in the dark’ about why exactly filming is taking place on the scenic beach, though the town’s people are reportedly ecstatic.

Fans are already speculating over how the location will feature but the general consensus is that it will act as the landing area for Daenerys and her huge fle

If Muriola Beach does serve as the Queen’s Landing, the question is where in Westeros is it? Dorne seems the most likely answer, yet some are speculating she may be returning to the Targaryen’s home, Dragonstone.

Danny’s presence in Westeros was recently hinted at in a separate report, rumours circulating that King’s Landing’s Dragonpit will feature in the show.

Season seven will be different to previous seasons for a number of reasons, primarily due to its shorter length – running for just seven episodes instead of ten – and later release date.

The list of directors working on season seven has also been revealed, with numerous alumni returning to the show. Meanwhile, cast members Maisie Williams and Kit Harrington have been talking about their characters futures.
